What Makes A Master Colorist

In 1995, upon graduating from cosmetology school, I took a position at the Yellow Strawberry Salon as an assistant/apprentice to then owner and Head Colorist for the salon: Louis Fernandez. For almost six months, working 50 hours a week, I mixed and applied color all day. I am indebted to Louis for sharing with me his more than 30 years experience and knowledge of color formulation, and for teaching me his unique wet on wet balliage technique.

Never satisfied – always wanting to do better; I expanded on that knowledge taking numerous advanced classes at the Vidal Sassoon Academy, Toni & Guy Academy, and others. About 18 months ago my color technique achieved a quantum leap when I was introduced to Steam Color Processing.

Steam drives the color far deeper into the hair without drying it out. That coupled with my now more than twenty years experience allow me to say; “I am a Master Colorist.”
